TRANS INCLUSION IN FEMINISM

Tickets are $0 - $53.40, and are available here.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER SERIES
The Personhood Speaker Series created a space to discuss what makes a ‘person’ and whose voices need centering in conversations about gender equality in 2020 and beyond.
ABOUT THE PANEL
Trans women have historically been excluded from mainstream feminist spaces, and in the Canadian context, from ‘personhood’ and feminist struggle. These painful realities and narratives are shifting, but unevenly so.
At LEAF’s closing event on personhood and gender equality in 2021 and beyond, our speakers will explore the feminist intersectional imperative to include all women in feminism, as well as to dream beyond the binary and open up to gender justice for all. Our speakers will discuss how they do or don’t take up and inhabit feminism and feminist struggle as part of their identities and work – and why.
The panel will feature Florence Ashley, Transfeminine Jurist and Bioethicist; Tatiana Ferguson, Equity and Inclusion Leader and Founding Member of the Black Queer Youth Collective; and Morgane Oger, Community Organizer and Founder of the Morgane Oger Foundation.
Brea Hutchinson, LEAF’s Director of Operations, will moderate the discussion.
This panel discussion will not be recorded.
